Luxury done right

What a joy when things are done well and all the stops have literally been pulled out – we thought we’d share our new favourite watering hole.

We've been to the NED on a few occasions now and have been blown away by the architecture and design of the place. It’s a huge old building which used to be headquarters of the Midland Bank, right next to Bank tube station in the heart of the City.

We have always been inspired by interior design. Fashion, design, architecture - they're all so closely intertwined and they’ve really brought all elements together so well here. The guys from Soho House got hold of the site and have managed to install eight restuarants, a hotel plus gym and swimming pool, a private members club with another pool and bar on the roof, plus a glittering cocktail bar nestled in the old bank vaults!

It’s been completely restored from top to bottom and despite the massive size of the place there is so much attention to detail to admire in every room, which is exactly what we’re all about! It's just a beautiful place and needs to be experienced.

One thing to look out for - the wallpaper is of particular note. In the women's bathroom the wallpaper is pink with gold thread weaving through it ... whaaaaaaaat?! We want! While you wait for the lift in the basement lobby you gaze upon golden landscape scenes of seventeenth century sailors discovering the exotic islands of Polynesia.... again, it's wallpaper - beautiful, luxurious, bespoke, handmade wallpaper.

Now we always say that the best doesn't have to be the most expensive but in this case I'm pretty sure these interiors cost an awful lot of money and sometimes that's just fine too.
